Sponsor Peggy Sue

We don’t know all the horrors our lovable lemon, Peggy Sue had to endure as a Slaughterhouse Survivor, but what we do know is not for the light-hearted. Peggy Sue was nothing more than a baby maker. Her vocal cords were removed, her hips were popped out of place and she was kept in a tiny cage with so much scar tissue around her joints. She came to us malnourished, terrified of absolutely everything, sleep deprived and in need of a lot of TLC. She spent years being abused, but they could never take away her strong will and feisty spirit that was fueled and made stronger with unconditional love and a pack of dogs and people who would protect that fire that burns inside of her at all costs; making her indomitable! Peggy’s independence and desire to do everything on her own time and in her own way was always nurtured and nourished with encouragement so she would never lose her voice or ability to speak up and boss up again.

Although Peggy Sue is the Queen Bee and she runs her house and all the dogs in it, she needs 24/7 round the clock care for the rest of her life. Peggy’s prognosis isn’t cut and dry or rather not exactly clear, but the immense amount of scar tissue around her joints have caused problems with her mobility. She may never walk “normally” again, but our goal is to get her to a place where we can get her strong enough to move comfortably with her new way of moving. Peggy Sue goes to physical therapy once a week where they do a combination of PT exercises and hydrotherapy.  We’re not going to lie, our lovable lemon wasn’t the biggest fan of rehab at first, but with the help of her fur-sisters rooting her on, Peggy has grown to enjoy every session.  Everyday Peggy Sue continues PT at home with the help of her furever fosters who not only encourages more mobility, but will constantly stretch her out and massage her muscles. Peggy is thriving with the love of her furever family and the support of all of you who help us give our Roadie the best physical therapy and hydrotherapy treatments possible to help Peggy live her life to the fullest!

Please consider sponsoring her care today!
