We rescued our senior codge of 8 years old, Horton Cassiel from the shelter and on the same night he wouldn’t stop coughing and had blood in his urine. Soon after we discovered that he had transitional cell carcinoma. We realized that our lovable lemon’s days might be shorter than we would have liked but that we would fill it with all the love, support and care he needs to know how much his life matters.
Horton is filled with a joie de vivre and as a result has a massive case of fomo a.k.a fear of missing out! Even if he is fast asleep in his bed, if he hears you move he will instantly open his eyes and oftentimes pop up to make sure that he isn’t missing out on anything fun. He is a bit of a stage-five clinger in the cutest form! Our Roadie has the biggest appetite of any small dog his forever foster has ever seen! He will finish his own food and will be laser focused on you as you finish yours. Horton will even do a cute little dance to try to convince you to give him your food or at the very least your attention! He doesn’t have the best eyesight at night, but enjoys walks in areas he is familiar with and appears to have some hearing issues. When you make a noise to get our Roadie’s attention, he will look in the opposite direction! Due to his bladder cancer, Horton has to change diapers multiple times and gets baths twice a week, but has no complaints as he is just excited to be by your side. He enjoys his days by sleeping in a heated blanket, following you around everywhere and getting all the attention he deserves to live his best life. Thank you for supporting Roadies like Horton Cassiel who came to us in need of hospice care and because of your sponsorships are able to live a blessed life for the rest of their days!
