Georgie Joy is a super affectionate “Little Big Girl”. We call her that because she is about 60 lbs. on 6 inch legs! She wants nothing more than to cuddle up with her person on the couch and have her ears scratched and get kisses on her face. Due to this Georgie Joy would do best in a home with no other dogs. Georgie can become protective of her person with other dogs and after all she has been through she thinks she deserves all the attention! In a group setting- on a walk etc. Georgie does do well with other dogs (large dominant females are a no-go) and she does well with cats! Georgie loves all people (anyone who will give her attention) and does well with kids. However, due to her size and energy she would do better with kids over 8-10 years old. Georgie can get mouthy when she is highly excited and needs to be redirected. When she is left alone for any length of time or is anxious she will eat (as in consume) anything she can find- including her bed. She is also still young and learning how to live in a home so some “puppy” type rules apply- keeping things away she can get into etc. She would do best in a home she is not left alone for extended periods of time.
Georgie LOVES to go on walks, chew bones and play with toys (just not plushie type ones she can eat). She gets the cutest zoomies and does adorable spins. Georgie’s favorite thing besides her person may be napping on the couch though and watching her jump on the couch may be the cutest thing you’ve ever seen. Georgie is about 90% potty trained. She gets let outside every few hours and will go potty, but will still have the occasional accident.
Georgie has KCS (dry eye) and will need artificial tears in her eye multiple times a day for the rest of her life. She doesn’t love it but does well with all handling (roll cleaning, eyes, ears etc). She has interdigital cysts on her front feet that she gets epsom salt foot baths for as well but as long as you pet her and kiss her while her feet are soaking she’s totally fine!
Georgie would do great in a home with a couch, a nice walk when she gets antsy and a loving lap to squish on her every day. An owner that understands that she is just learning to live in a house for the first time in her life, to be patient with her and give her love, direction and encouragement to be the best she can be!
