Testimonials

I have been a Road Dogs foster for almost 3 years. I love telling people about my work with Road Dogs. (Yes it is work haha) It has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my life.
One part of fostering that people don’t talk often about is the human side. Yes, we are literally saving dogs lives and that has a profound impact, but we are also building forever families. People always say to me “how do you let them go? I would keep them all!” But I can tell you, once you have experienced handing a dog over to a person or family that wants this loveable lemon more than anything, seeing the joy and love is incredible. I love every single one of my foster dogs and have so much gratitude and friendship with all of their adopters.
Road Dogs as an organization has been there with me through every step. Their support has been everything! From picking up a foster to the adoption day. They are looking out above and beyond for every need of the dog and have my back as well. I love my Road Dogs family!

Inkberry & Gidget
We cannot thank Roadogs for being such an amazing organization with some of the best humans we know. We are so fortunate and lucky to have our Inkberry and Gidget; they are the gifts that keep on giving!! Everyone should adopt from Roadogs. You don’t just get to adopt a special baby, you get the wonderful Roadogs family as well!
— Greg C.
Norman
My beautiful Norman was rescued and rehabilitated by Road Dogs and I am forever grateful! His evolution from a used and abused stud dog rescued off a slaughterhouse truck in China, to the loving, beautiful King he’s become would never have been possible without Road Dogs and their motto of “leave no dog behind”.
They say when you rescue an animal, they actually rescue YOU and the cliche is true! Norman has taught me (Norman’s mama) to celebrate the little things in life, that life is too short to turn down a cookie, and that our traumas, big or small, do NOT define us. He’s an angel. And he’s alive and forever loved thanks to Road Dogs.

Sam & Grant
It's been over two years since we adopted Grant. I first volunteered as a Foster family for him. But as soon as I met him in person, I knew he would become a permanent member of our family. He was a lovebug immediately, rolling on his back begging for non-stop rubs. He was a skinny thing when he first arrived, but he's definitely been spoiled and indulged by us all, especially his Dad. Grant’s funny personality charmed his way into even the hearts of those who weren’t too convinced of adding another dog (ahem his dad).
We love everything about him from his perky ears down to his spunky little tail that wags when you enter a room. We are committed to continuing to support Road Dogs and Rescues because of all the work they do, not just locally, but on a global scale. Lives are truly changed, and not just for the four-legged variety ones.

Jed, Toad, & Backpack
Road Dogs is an amazing rescue that sponsored my two girls Toad and Backpack and allowed them to come to the US from China where they would have likely ended up in a meat market. I am eternally grateful for Nikki and the crew at Road Dogs for all they do to save dogs in need around the world.
It is very clear this rescue is all about finding happy homes for dogs. Politics and high adoption fees to make money is not what Road Dogs is about. The dogs come first. I love Road Dogs and am honored to be a part of the greater Road Dogs family.

Scarlett (now Shadow)
After having lost our former Roadog rescue Primrose; our family was heart broken but remained committed to rescue and supporting the mission of rescue by opening up our home to fostering. We were informed of Scarlett’s situation and had the time to devote to her recovery so we fostered her through the holidays.
Her condition had many ups and downs but this little girl has persevered and is now doing better and thriving each day. She has quickly bonded with the family so we were thrilled to make her part of our pack! She is now known as “Shadow” and spends most of her time playing with her mates Ronnie and Peppa, enjoying life! We love her so much, we are so happy to have adopted our little girl.

Darla
I have dreamed of having a bulldog since I was a small child. We started following Roadogs on Instagram because of the beautiful and special pups they rescue! We wanted to get involved, so we drove from SF to LA to attend the Race for the Rescues. There, we met a few Roadogs volunteers. We stayed in contact and were lucky enough to become the coordinators for all the dogs flying into SFO from Slaughterhouse Survivors for Operation Bulldog 2019. Of course, we had to foster one too! We fell in love with our foster girl, Darla (Trixie Tumbleweed).
She is such a sweet, happy girl and it was hard not to want to give her the best life knowing how horrible her life had been up until her rescue. She is a spunky pants, who loves chomping on toys, snuggling with her family, and soaking up the CA sun. We love our little muffin so much and want to spoil her for the rest of her days!

Antonio Flynn
I was looking for a dog to adopt and ran across Road Dogs and Rescue. You see, I’m a sucker for the underdog. After taking a look at all the loveable lemons there were to adopt, my husband and I fell in love with Antonio Flynn, known to us as Flynnie. From the very first interaction, everyone at Road Dogs was open, honest, professional and all with good hearts. You can’t do this work if you don’t have a big heart!
Flynn fit right into our family as if he were always here! He is a little cuddle bug with a huge personality! We are so thrilled with our experience with Road Dogs and Rescue. They are a top notch organization with only the dog’s best interest at heart. If you are looking to expand your family by adding a dog who needs a family, Road Dogs is the place to go.

Mossy
We adopted the “perfect” dog from Roadogs!!!! Mossy is one amazing dog/family member we brought home about one year ago. They made the adoption process very quick and easy. They made sure our family was the right fit for Mossy and we would be good for her. She has been an amazing addition to our family, and I feel like Roadogs is part of our family too!! I try every day to make each day Mossy’s best day, because she deserves it. She may not have had an easy start in life, but because of Roadogs she is living her best life now.
I appreciate how Roadogs has educated us on what is happening in China and the backstory of the dogs they rescue, not only to make a change, but to fully understand the dog that is coming into your life. I will forever be grateful to every volunteer that made it possible for me to have Mossy. I hope to repay the favor one day. Roadogs is not just a dog adoption, it’s our family joining a community of fellow dog lovers!!

Teddy Fotheringham Tricks
Adopting from Roadogs was an amazing experience. One thing I really love about Roadogs and Rescue is their commitment to putting the pups first and really wanting the best for them and their happiness. I was following R&R for a while before adopting Teddy and between the review of the application itself all the way to the process of adoption to adoption day — you will see how much they really do want to set all parties up for success and I really appreciate that, especially as someone who has had a fair deal of witnessing the rescue world.
They are a well educated, civilized, well rounded, focused & authentic animal rescue that wants the best for humanity in general and we look forward to continuing to adopt with Roadogs in order to help push the mission along as best we can -- they are our family & without them we wouldn’t have Ted! Thank you for all that you guys continue to do, day in and day out. Thank you for all the sweet spirits you see true specialty in despite their needs. Teddy is the perfect addition to our family. We love you!!!

Merlot
Adopting from Road Dogs was the best thing that happened to my husband and I in 2020. They were so kind and welcoming when I expressed interest in adopting Merlot. They gave us the best puppy we could have dreamt off and I love that we now feel part of the Road Dog family. Their dedication to save as many lovable lemons as possible is remarkable. They inspired us and we are working on a side project to be able to give back and help them save even more dogs in the future.
— Magali G.
Pumpkin & Truman
We are so lucky to have adopted Kennedy and Truman from Roadogs. They are an organization that we fully support and believe in 100%. Being part of the Roadogs family is something we take great pride in and look forward to adding more Roadogs to our family in the future!
— Jessica K.
Fifi
We saw Fifi for the first time watching a video of her rescue mission in China on social media. We knew from that day that on one of those saved bulldogs would find a way to become a part of our fur family. Roadogs and their volunteer team flew out to care for her and 100s of others at the safehouse. It was so incredible to see how much dedication the whole team had. While covid had other plans for Fifi's freedom flight, we not so patiently waited over 1 year for her flight to NYC! Roadogs did everything to get her to the U.S. as soon, and as safely, as possible.
We are endlessly thankful for their whole team and their tireless commitment to bulldog rescue. So thankful, we're now Roadog volunteers! Fifi is now loving life in Brooklyn and immediately settled into her memory foam bed!
— Matt & Jamie L.
Bigrig
Our family is overjoyed to have adopted Big Rig! Roadogs and Rescue is a blessing to our community- giving hope, spreading love, educating and finding forever homes for these perfectly imperfect angels! Big Rig is a blessing to us and we can’t thank you enough for our beautiful baby boy.
— Francoise K.
